UGC extended last date for application of UGC-NET June 2012


University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the date for online submission of application forms for its NET (national eligibility test) to May 2.
This followed complaints that Application submission for NET is not possible due to overload on server.
Earlier April 30 was the last date for online submission of forms, said PU development officer and incharge of NET examination Sanjay KumarSinha. The last date for submission of hard copies of applications has also been extended to May 9.

MTech Admissions at IIST


Applications have been invited for admission to MTech Programmes at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Valiamala (PO), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala for the year 2012-13.

MTech at IIIT-Delhi


IIIT-Delhi has invited applications for admission to MTech courses (CSE & ECE) in the following areas:

Eligibility for MTech in CSE :
The minimum eligibility criterion for this program is BTech / BE in CS/IT/ECE/EE with at least 7.5 CGPA (out of 10) or 70% or distinction. Candidates should have proper foundations in algorithms and theory, good programming skills, in particular, systems programming, and ability to work hard. Requirements may be relaxed for candidates with relevant experience in the area of security, database, or mobile computing.
   
MCA / MSc (CS/IT/ECE) degree is considered equivalent to BTech / BE degree. Such students are also eligible to apply with the condition that they have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects for BSc. The marks requirement is same as that given above for BTech / BE degrees.
Eligibility for MTech in ECE :
The minimum eligibility criterion for this program is BTech / BE in ECE/EE and allied areas with at least 7.5 CGPA (out of 10) or 70% or distinction. Candidates should have good foundations in electronics and communications with enhanced problem solving capabilities. Excellent programming skills are an added advantage. Maximum of 10 seats per specialization may be filled using GATE score (Direct admission).
MSc (in ECE or allied areas) degree is considered equivalent to BTech / BE degree. Such students are also eligible to apply with the condition that they have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects for BSc. The marks requirement is same as that given above for BTech / BE degrees.
Sponsored full-time candidates :
This category comprises of students who are working professionals and are sponsored by the reputed organization (from Government or private organizations) by giving an undertaking. They will not be entitled to any financial assistance from the Institute, fee waiver, and on-campus placement. Admission process will be same as for regular candidates. However, the institute currently has only full-time option and no part-time option is available.

SSLC Result 2012


The students waiting for the SSLC March 2012 examination results which will be announced on 26 April at 11.30 am, will have a plethora of options to know their outcome. The IT@School project under the Education Department of the Kerala Government has made extensive arrangements for prompt declaration of results.
Students can check the results online on the SSLC 2012 results website (http://results.itschool.gov.in/) after the Education Minister announces it today evening. The students will have to give the Register Number to get the results. IT@School is using Content Delivery Network (CDN) system to push the content faster. This technology ensures that the website remains accessible despite lakhs of students trying to get the results at the same time. Students can take a print out of the mark sheet for further admissions.

PGDC Common Entrance Test 2012 at NPTI


Applications have been invited by National Power Training Institute, Nagpur for admission to Post Graduate Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering of Academic Year 2012-13 through PGDC Common Entrance Test on 10-06-2012.
ELIGIBILITY :

Applications have been invited by Delhi Technological University for admission to the following Mtech programmes of academic year 2012-13.
FULL TIME PROGRAMMES :

Candidates must have passed the A.M.I.E. (India) Exam, with appropriate specialization/ Grade  I.E.T.E. (India)  A.M.I.E.  (London) A.M.I. Mech.  Engg. (London) A.M.I.  Structure Engineering, any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to BTech by the  University.

ii.  A candidate for admission to full time program must have qualified in GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

A.2 MTech (Polymer Technology)

i. Candidates should have passed BE / BTech Examination in any branch of Engineering with a minimum of  60% marks  in aggregate  from a recognised University or any other Examination recognized by the University equivalent thereto.  OR
MSc (Chemistry) of any recognized University or equivalent thereto.

ii. All the candidates for admission to full  time  MTech Programs  must  have qualified in GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

A.3 MTech (Computer Science and Engineering)

ii. A candidate for admission to full-time  MTech Program  must  have qualified in the  GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

A.4 MTech (Microwave and Optical Communication)
i. Candidates should have passed BE / BTech Examination in Electronics & Communication with a minimum of  60% marks  in aggregate  from a recognised University or any other examination recognised by DTU equivalent thereto. OR
MSc Electronics / MSc in  Physics  with  Electronics / Radio Physics / Solid   State  Physics with a minimum of  60% marks  in aggregate  from a recognised University or any other examination recognised as equivalent by DTU.
 
ii. A candidate for admission to full-time  MTech Program  must  have qualified in GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

A.5 MTech (Bioinformatics)
i. Candidates who  has passed BTech (Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or  equivalent / MSc Micro Biology  / Biotechnology from any  University recognised by UGC or equivalent thereto with a CGPA 6.75 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks.

ii. A candidate for admission to full time  program must have qualified the GATE examination.

A.6 MTech (VLSI Design and Embedded System) / Information Technology
i.
  A candidate must   have  passed  the   Bachelor's   Degree  Examination  in  Electronics   & Communication / Electrical & Electronics / Information Technology / Computer Engineering with a minimum of  60% marks  in aggregate  from a recognized university or any other examination recognized by the  university equivalent thereto. OR
A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E. (India) Exam,with appropriate specialization / Grade I.E.T.E. (India) with a minimum of 60%  marks in aggregate or in any other  examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to BE / BTech by University.

ii.   A candidate for admission to full time  program must have qualified in the GATE (Graduate  Aptitude Test in Engineering) in EC for VLSI Course and Computer Engineering / EC / IT for the  Information Technology.

A.7 MTech (Nano Science & Technology)
i.  A candidate who  has  passed  BE / BTech degree  from a  recognised University in Electronics  & Communication, Electrical, Electrical  & Electronics, Chemical  Engineering / Polymer Technology / Bio-Technology with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.  OR
MSc Electronics / MSc in Chemistry / MSc in Physics and MSc in Mathematical Science with a minimum of  60% marks  in aggregate  from a recognised University or any other examination recognised as equivalent by the  University.

ii. A candidate for admission to full time program must have qualified in the GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering).

A.8 MTech (Software Engineering)
i.
  Candidate should  have passed BE / BTech (or its  equivalent examination as specified in Computer Engineering / IT / EC or MSc in Computer Science (with Physics at the  BSc level) or MCA (with Physics and  Mathematics at BSc level) with a minimum of  60% marks in aggregate of a recognised University or any other  examination recognised by the University equivalent there to.

ii. A candidate for admission to full-time MTech Program must have a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering) score.

A.9 MTech (Power System)
i.  Candidate must  have passed the  BE / BTech Examination in the  appropriate branch of Electrical  Engineering, Electrical & Electronics  Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate  from a recognized University or  any other Examination recognised by the University Equivalent thereto. OR
A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E. (India) Exam, with appropriate specialization / Grade I.E.T.E. (India),  A .M.I. E. (London) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate  or in any other examination in the  concerned branch recognized as equivalent to BTech by the  DTU, Delhi.

ii. A candidate for  admission to full-time program must  have  a valid  GATE (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering) score.

PART TIME PROGRAMMES :
The schedule of Part-time Programs are normally arranged from 9.00 AM to 11.00  AM on 5 days a week and on Saturday / Sundays, if necessary. Whenever possible  full-time students and part time students may have combined classes.

Candidates  are eligible for admission to these  programs provided they satisfy the eligibility requirement as in A.1(i) or A.2 (i) or A.3 (i)  and also the  following conditions :
i.  Should be working in an Engineering Institution in the  National Capital Region, Delhi and must  have meaningful experience of 1 year before  admission. OR
Should be employed in approved reputed Industry / Research / Development / Design / Training  Organizations in National Capital  Region, Delhi  and must  have  had  meaningful experience of 1year before admission.

ii.  Candidate   will  be  required to continue in  such  employment during entire period of Program.

Candidates   applying for   Part-Time   Program  must   submit  the   following  documents/ undertaking :
(a) A clear No objection Certificate (without qualifying conditions) and
(b) Permission to undergo any training / project outside Delhi for about  one month. This must  be submitted along with the application form.
Sponsored Candidates :
A government organization or a reputed industry in the  National Capital Region of Delhi may sponsor  candidates for full-time programs in various  specializations provide they  satisfy the eligibility requirements as per A.1(i) or A.2 (i) or A.3 (i) or A.4 (i) or A.5 (i) or A.6 (i) or A.7 (i) or A.8 (i) or A.9 (i) and must have meaningful experience of one year before admission.

Age Limit :
A candidate should have attained the age of 21 years  before the  first  day of September in the year in which  he/she seeks admission. However, the  Vice-Chancellor may relax the  age limit to a maximum period of one year.

UGC NET on June 24; Apply by April 30


 The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) will conduct National Eligibility Test (NET) on June 24, 2012 (Sunday) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals inorder to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY :    
(i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities / institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Physically Handicapped (PH) / Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
   
(ii) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing for the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
    
(iii) PhD degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.
    
(iv) Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects in item No. 9, may appear in a related subject.
    
(v) Candidates seeking concession in fee are required to submit attested copy of their OBC(Non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PH/VH certificate along with online printout of their Application Forms (obtained while applying on-line). Other candidates are not required to submit any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility alongwith printout of their Application Form. Therefore, the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the Commission at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.
    
(vi) Candidates with post-graduate diploma/certificate course(s), should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their course(s) with Master’s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. (www.aiuweb.org)
EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP) :
    
(i) NET / SLET / SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities / Colleges / Institutions. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a PhD Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of PhD Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.

(ii) The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR JRF examination prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in NET.
   
(iii) For SET Candidates : The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, being eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India. For SET held from 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities/ colleges belonging to the state from where they have cleared their SET.

AGE LIMIT & RELAXATION :    
(i) Junior Research Fellowship : Not more than 28 years as on 01.06.2012. A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PH / VH categories and to women applicants. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates having research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on production of a certificate from appropriate authority. Three years’ relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

(ii) Lectureship : There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility.

HOW TO APPLY (APPLICATIONS HAVE TO BE SUBMITTED ONLINE) :  
STEPS FOR SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORM :   
(i) The candidates are required to download the Bank Challan Performa from the UGC website and then deposit the requisite test fee in any branch of State Bank of India along with the bank charges (commission) of Rs.20/-.
   
(ii) Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the following : (i) Scanned passport (pp) size photograph in JPEG format of less than 300 kb, (ii) Copy of Bank Challan (fee receipt).
    
(iii) Candidate seeking admission to the Test must apply online (i.e. www.ugcnetonline.inOR through a link available on the UGC website:( www.ugc.ac.in ).
    
(iv) After successful submission, the candidate should take printout of online Application Form (two copies), Attendance Slip (one copy) and Admission Card (one copy) on separate A-4 size papers.
   
(v) SC / ST / PH / VH candidates and candidates belonging to OBC (non-creamy layer) (as per the Central list of OBC available on website : www.ncbc.nic.in ) must enclose the attested copy of certificate for the same.
   
(vi) Candidates seeking age relaxation must enclose the certificate of educational qualification/research experience entitling the candidates for age relaxation.
   
(vii) The Application (consisting of two copies of printout of online application form, one copy of Attendance Slip and one copy of Admission Card) alongwith required documents must reach the Registrar of the University (UGC Test Centre) on or before 07.05.2012.

UKSEE 2012


Uttarakhand Technical University will conduct Uttarakhand State Engineering Entrance Examination (UKSEE) 2012 on 15-06-2012 (Friday) for admission to Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and Computer Application courses of the University for the Academic Year 2012-13.
Eligibility Qualification Criteria :
(1) For admission to first year of BPharm / BHMCT, candidate must have passed intermediate (10+2 level or equivalent) examination of Uttarakhand Board or any recognized Board.
(2) Admission to 1st year BTech will be done on the merit basis of AIEEE, 1st year BArch will be done on the merit basis of NATA, 1st year MBA will be done on the merit basis of MAT / CAT.
(3) For admission to second year (lateral entry) BTech, the candidate must have passed three years "Diploma in Engineering" or three years "BSc degree with Mathematics as one subject" and securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

The UKSEE application forms will be available from 12-04-2012 at various post offices in various cities of Uttarakhand as well as from Post offices of Lucknow GPO, Meerut City HO and New Delhi GPO. MEd 2012 at MG University, Kottayam



Applications are invited by MG University for admission to MEd Degree Programme offered at School of Pedagogical Sciences, of the Academic year 2012-13.
Eligibility :
Bachelors Degree in Education with not less than 55% marks or CGPA of 2.2.

SELECTION PROCESS :
Selection of students is based on marks obtained in the Qualifying Examination plus Weightage, Entrance Test and Interview in the ratio of 50:40:10.
The Entrance test (One hour duration) shall consist of objective type questions for 40 marks based on the Syllabus of the general papers of BEd Degree Programme of Mahatma Gandhi University. Candidates who have PG in the concerned subject are eligible for weightage of marks in the following proportion: I class-15, II class-10 , III class-5.
TEACHER QUOTA :
One seat is reserved for teachers working in Government / Aided Schools / Colleges (Certificates Countersigned by AEO / DEO / DD to be attached). The Selection under Teacher Quota will be based purely on the length of approved teaching service in Government or Aided Schools / Colleges and they should secure a minimum of 40% marks in the MEd Entrance Exam. Candidates are eligible for a weightate of 0.1 mark for every month of approved teaching service in Schools / Colleges, subject to a maximum of 15 marks. The maximum age of the candidate under Teacher Quota shall be 50 years as on the last date of application. 
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS :
a. Copies of documents to prove qualification / age / caste and other relevant certificates should be attached along with the application. Original documents should be produced at the time of interview / admission.
b. Those who have qualified from Universities other than Mahatma Gandhi University should produce eligibility / recognition certificate from this University and Migration Certificate / NOC from parent University at the time of admission.
c.  No rounding of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted.
RELAXATION OF MARKS AND RESERVATION OF SEATS :  Only a pass in the qualifying exam is required for SC / ST candidates. SEBC candidates are eligible for a concession of 3% marks and OEC candidates are eligible for a concession of 5% marks. In the absence of SC / ST candidates, vacancy will be filled up by admitting eligible OEC candidates.  Three percent of seats shall be reserved for candidates having physical disabilities. Physically challenged candidates suffering from disability of 40% or more and certified as such by a Medical Board (Civil Surgeon) indicating the percentage of disability shall be considered for reservation.
COMMUNAL RESERVATION : 
The percentage break up of seats as per mandatory reservation norms based on University / Government rules is as follows.

2.  Muslim                :  7 %
3.  Latin Catholics other than Anglo Indians : 1 %
4.  Other Backward Christians : 1%  (SIUC & converts to Christianity from SC)

WEIGHTAGE OF MARKS :   Weightage of marks for proficiency in Sports / Games / NCC / NSS etc. and bonus marks for Ex-servicemen, widows and children of Jawans / Ex-servicemen will be given as per the existing rules of admission.

CUSAT Admit cards

CUSAT CAT Admit Card can be downloaded from 20th April, 2012 onwards. Admit Cards will not be sent by post. Students have to browse the http://iraa.cusat.ac.inand download the Admit Card and take print out in inkjet or laser jet printer. Without Admit Cards nobody will be allowed to enter the exam hall.

M D Homoeo Entrance Results Published


The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has published the provisional rank list of candidates who have appeared for the Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Homoeopathy 2012-13 conducted on 25.03.2012 at Thiruvananthapuram. The Rank list will be available for reference on the website www.cee-kerala.org.

BTech/MTech 2012 at RGIPT, Rae Bareli

MTech: A 4-year BTech / BE degree in Petroleum, Petro-Chemical, Production, Chemical, Electrical,  Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.

GATE score basis: Shortlisted candidates based on their valid GATE scores will be called for a written test followed by an interview. Final selection list will be made on the scores obtained in the written test and interview aggregately.

Company sponsorship basis: GATE score is not required. These candidates must appear for a written test followed by an interview. Such candidates will not be eligible for MTech fellowship. Candidate should have worked for the sponsoring organization for at least one year.

Kerala BTech College Transfer 2012-13

Kerala University has invited applications from regular students of Engineering Colleges within Kerala who have completed 1st and 2nd Semester BTech Degree Course and are eligible for promotion to the Third Semester class, for transfer to the 3rd Semester in the Engineering Colleges affiliated to the University during the academic year 2012-13. Applications must be submitted in plain paper with complete address and phone number.
Transfers will be effected only between the institutions of identical category and fee structure.  The category of seat and tuition fees should be clearly specified in the application form.  Those who get transferred should clear the I and II Semester Examination in the parent University itself.  Besides, they should pass the additional papers / subjects as may be fixed by Kerala University, with reference to its Scheme and Syllabus.
Application alongwith the attested copy of the Rank Certificate of Entrance Examination 2011, attested copy of Hall ticket for S1 & S2 BTech Degree Examination and in the case of SC/ST students, a Certificate to prove that he/she belongs to the SC/ST Community should reach the Registrar, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram-695 034 on or before 31.05.2012.
Applications not recommended and forwarded by the Principal of the College in which the candidate is studying will not be entertained. Applicants must download a proforma relating to the transfer, from "Resources and downloads" at : www.keralauniversity.ac.inand send it duly filled and attested by the Principal, alongwith the request for transfer and pay-in-slip of Rs.1500/- remitted at the Kerala University cash counter (or Demand Draft of Rs.1510/- drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala from SBI / SBT / Dist. Co-operative Bank and payable at Service Branch, Thiruvananthapuram) as processing fee.
